Thousand Oaks is one of the more health-conscious communities in Southern California, and its residents know it. With a population of nearly 130,000 spread across the Conejo Valley, the city has built a reputation for outdoor living, wellness culture, and a strong preference for clean, research-backed health products. It’s no surprise that demand for quality CBD has grown quickly here over the last several years.

But “near me” means something different than it used to. In 2026, the best CBD shop isn’t always a brick-and-mortar storefront down the street — it’s often the one with the widest selection, third-party lab testing on every product, multiple cannabinoid formulations, and the convenience of same-region shipping to your front door. This guide covers all of it: local walk-in shops and online options that actually serve the Thousand Oaks area.

Whether you’re shopping for sleep support, daily wellness routines, pet CBD, or a specific cannabinoid ratio like CBD:Delta-9 or CBD:CBN, this ranked list will help you find what you need without the guesswork.

If you’re searching “best CBD shop near me in Thousand Oaks,” Simply Hemply is the answer — and it’s not particularly close. Based in Westlake Village, just minutes from Thousand Oaks city limits, Simply Hemply has built a reputation across the entire Conejo Valley as the go-to source for premium, third-party tested hemp products that go well beyond basic CBD oil.

What sets Simply Hemply apart isn’t just convenience — it’s depth. Most local storefronts carry one or two cannabinoid types. Simply Hemply’s catalog covers the full range of legally available hemp-derived cannabinoids: CBD, Delta-9 THC (federally compliant), CBN, CBG, and CBC. That matters when you’re trying to tailor a wellness routine rather than just grabbing whatever’s closest to the register.

Why Thousand Oaks Residents Choose Simply Hemply

• Every product is third-party lab tested — Certificates of Analysis (COAs) are available for everything in the catalog, so you know exactly what’s in your product before it arrives.
• Multi-cannabinoid formulations — Products like the 5mg Delta-9 / 125mg CBD gummies combine THC and CBD, which some customers prefer; the “entourage effect” idea behind these blends is still being studied.
• Full product diversity — Tinctures, gummies and edibles, topicals, capsules, vaporizers, herbal supplements, functional mushrooms, and a dedicated pet CBD line. One store, one trusted source.
• Ships directly to your door in Thousand Oaks — No driving, no parking lots, no upselling. Order from your phone, receive within 2–5 business days.
• Free shipping on orders $100+ — Most customers stock up on two or three products at a time, so free shipping is the norm rather than the exception.
• Expert guidance available — Call or message during business hours and talk with a real, knowledgeable team member who isn’t on commission.

Products Available at Simply Hemply

Simply Hemply’s catalog is organized by need and cannabinoid type, which makes it easy for Thousand Oaks residents to find what they’re looking for regardless of experience level:

• CBD Gummies & Edibles — Multiple ratios available; popular options include blueberry raspberry (5mg THC / 125mg CBD) and sleep-specific CBN blends
• CBD Tinctures & Oils — Full-spectrum and broad-spectrum options in multiple potencies
• CBN Products — Marketed for nighttime routines, though human research on CBN is limited; a category most local Thousand Oaks shops don’t carry at all
• CBG Products — Growing in popularity, with early research still mostly preclinical
• Topicals & Creams — Balms, salves, and creams for topical application
• Pet CBD — Tinctures and treats formulated for dogs and cats; lab tested to the same standard as human products
• Functional Mushrooms & Herbal Supplements — A growing category that pairs well with cannabinoid wellness
• Vaporizers & Cartridges — Hemp-derived vape options for those who prefer inhalation delivery

🥈 #2. Your CBD Store | SUNMED — Best Walk-In CBD Storefront in Thousand Oaks

Address: 3741 E Thousand Oaks Blvd, Thousand Oaks, CA 91362
Phone: (805) 446-4223
Hours: Mon–Fri 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM | Sat–Sun 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

For Thousand Oaks residents who’d rather shop in person, Your CBD Store is the city’s most established dedicated CBD retail location. Operated under the SUNMED brand, this franchise location focuses exclusively on hemp-derived products — no tobacco, no vape accessories, no mixed-use inventory. Walk through the door and the entire store is oriented around CBD education and product selection.

The store is particularly known for its staff, who are trained on the SUNMED product line and offer personalized consultations at no charge. For first-time CBD users in Thousand Oaks, that can be genuinely useful — getting a real conversation about what you’re trying to address (pain, sleep, anxiety, general wellness) before committing to a product. The store also offers free product samples, a feature that earns consistent praise in customer reviews.

The trade-off compared to Simply Hemply is product breadth. SUNMED is a single-brand franchise, so your options are limited to that brand’s catalog. If you’re after multi-cannabinoid blends, functional mushrooms, pet CBD, or specific CBN/CBG products beyond what SunMed manufactures, you’ll need to look elsewhere. The store’s THC-free positioning also means Delta-9 products aren’t available here.

Best for: First-timers, in-person consultations, THC-free product seekers.

🥉 #3. Mr. Smoke Cigars, Vapes and CBD World — Best One-Stop Smoke & CBD Shop in Thousand Oaks

Address: 3186 Thousand Oaks Blvd, Thousand Oaks, CA 91362
Phone: (805) 852-5399
Hours: Mon–Fri 9:30 AM – 9:00 PM | Sat 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM | Sun 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Mr. Smoke Cigars, Vapes and CBD World is the most accessible option on this list in terms of hours — open until 9 PM on weekdays with Sunday availability, covering time windows that Your CBD Store doesn’t. Located on the same major commercial corridor as much of Thousand Oaks’ retail, it’s a practical stop for residents in the eastern part of the city.

The shop carries a broad mix: disposable vapes, cigars, glass, Kratom, CBD products, and Delta-8 THC. For customers who want CBD in a general smoke and vape shop environment, this works fine. For those who want a wellness-focused experience with dedicated staff and a structured consultation process, it’s a different vibe from a specialty CBD store.

Product variety and lab testing consistency can vary depending on which brands the store is currently stocking — common in multi-brand smoke shops and worth keeping in mind. Reviews highlight the friendly staff and solid selection of glass and accessories alongside the hemp products.

Best for: Evening shopping, combined vape/CBD purchases, Delta-8 seekers.

#4. Leaf Dispensary — Best Licensed Cannabis Dispensary Near Thousand Oaks (Newbury Park)

Location: Newbury Park, CA (within the city of Thousand Oaks)
Type: Licensed California cannabis dispensary | Delivery available

Leaf Dispensary is one of only two city-permitted cannabis retailers in Thousand Oaks, operating in the Newbury Park neighborhood. As a state-licensed dispensary, Leaf carries products that go through California’s mandatory third-party testing requirements — so every item on the menu has a verified lab report attached to it by law.

While Leaf is primarily a cannabis dispensary with THC-dominant flower, concentrates, and edibles as its core inventory, it also carries CBD-rich and balanced THC:CBD products for customers who want the full-spectrum plant experience. That makes it a solid option for Thousand Oaks residents dealing with more significant wellness concerns who want the combined effect of THC and CBD together — something purely hemp-focused stores can’t legally offer in the same way.

The key distinction: Leaf is a cannabis dispensary first, meaning some products require you to be 21+ and the experience is oriented around the broader California cannabis menu. For straight CBD wellness without THC involvement, Simply Hemply or Your CBD Store SUNMED are better fits. For consumers who want regulated, lab-tested full-plant products, Leaf is a strong local option.

Best for: Full-spectrum cannabis + CBD; dispensary-quality lab testing; Newbury Park residents.

#5. Legendary Organics — Best Organically Focused Cannabis & CBD Dispensary in the Conejo Valley

Location: Thousand Oaks, CA
Type: Licensed California cannabis dispensary | Delivery available

Legendary Organics holds the other of Thousand Oaks’ two licensed cannabis retail permits and has built a reputation in the Conejo Valley for its emphasis on quality and organic sourcing. The dispensary’s name reflects its approach: clean, organically grown cannabis products in a professional retail environment.

Like Leaf, Legendary Organics operates under California’s full cannabis licensing framework, which means all products go through state-mandated laboratory testing. Their inventory includes CBD-rich flower, CBD tinctures, CBD topicals, and balanced ratio products alongside a broader cannabis menu. For Thousand Oaks customers who want the peace of mind of California’s regulated testing framework on their CBD products specifically, Legendary Organics delivers that.

Delivery is available to Thousand Oaks addresses, which makes it a viable option for customers who’d rather not visit a storefront. Like Leaf, this is a 21+ facility with cannabis dispensary rules in effect.

Best for: Organically focused cannabis + CBD products; customers who want CA state-licensed and tested items; delivery to Thousand Oaks.

How to Choose the Right CBD Shop Near You in Thousand Oaks

With the options above laid out, the right pick depends on what you’re actually looking for. Here’s a practical framework for Thousand Oaks residents navigating the CBD market in 2026.

1. Prioritize Third-Party Lab Testing (COAs)

This is the single most important factor in CBD quality. A Certificate of Analysis (COA) from an independent laboratory confirms the cannabinoid content, checks for heavy metals, pesticides, and residual solvents, and verifies that the product contains what the label says. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the CBD marketplace still has real label accuracy problems — making lab testing your best protection as a consumer.

Simply Hemply publishes COAs for every product in its catalog. Your CBD Store / SUNMED relies on SunMed’s in-house testing program. California licensed dispensaries (Leaf, Legendary Organics) are required by state law to have all products tested. For smoke shops carrying multiple brands, always ask to see the COA for any specific product before buying.

2. Know Which Cannabinoid You Actually Need

Harvard Health Publishing has noted the growing body of research distinguishing different cannabinoids and their effects. Not all “CBD products” are the same:

• CBD (Cannabidiol) — The foundational cannabinoid; studied for anxiety, inflammation, and general wellbeing
• CBN (Cannabinol) — Increasingly used as a sleep-support compound; found in sleep gummies and nighttime tinctures
• CBG (Cannabigerol) — Known as the “mother cannabinoid”; early research, mostly in animals and cell studies, is exploring its possible effects
• Delta-9 THC (hemp-derived) — Currently federally legal at ≤0.3% Delta-9 THC by dry weight under the 2018 Farm Bill, but a federal law signed in November 2025 excludes final products with more than 0.4 mg of total THC per container from the hemp definition starting December 11, 2026; mildly psychoactive
• Full-spectrum products — Contain a natural mix of cannabinoids, thought to produce the “entourage effect” through synergistic action

Most Thousand Oaks storefronts carry primarily CBD with limited options beyond that. Simply Hemply is the only local option — including online delivery — that covers the full cannabinoid menu from a hemp-specific perspective.

3. Consider Delivery Convenience vs. In-Person Experience

For routine CBD purchases — restocking gummies, replacing a tincture, reordering pet CBD — online ordering from a trusted local source like Simply Hemply is more efficient. For first-time buyers who want to ask questions face-to-face and possibly sample products before committing, Your CBD Store SUNMED in Thousand Oaks provides that experience. The best CBD routine is one you actually maintain, so factor in convenience heavily.

4. Understand the Hemp vs. Cannabis Distinction

Hemp-derived CBD products (sold by Simply Hemply and Your CBD Store) are federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill and available without any dispensary card. Cannabis dispensary products (Leaf, Legendary Organics) operate under California’s state cannabis licensing system and are subject to local regulations. Both can be excellent sources of CBD — but they serve different regulatory contexts and customer profiles.

What Does the Research Say About CBD in 2026?

The science on cannabidiol keeps developing. Here’s where credible research currently stands for Thousand Oaks residents evaluating CBD for their wellness routines:

• Sleep: A 2019 study published in The Permanente Journal (via the National Library of Medicine) found that 79.2% of patients reported lower anxiety scores and 66.7% reported better sleep scores within the first month of CBD use.
• Inflammation & Pain: Research covered by Harvard Health Publishing acknowledges CBD’s potential anti-inflammatory properties, though more large-scale human clinical trials are ongoing.
• Anxiety: The Frontiers in Psychiatry journal has published multiple peer-reviewed studies on CBD’s anxiolytic effects, with promising results in preclinical and observational studies.
• Pet Health: A Cornell University study published in Frontiers in Veterinary Science found that CBD oil significantly reduced pain and increased mobility in dogs with osteoarthritis — relevant for the large number of Thousand Oaks residents with pets.

None of these findings are FDA-approved medical claims, and CBD products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Always consult a licensed healthcare provider before adding CBD to your health routine, particularly if you take prescription medications or have a pre-existing condition.

Frequently Asked Questions: CBD Shopping in Thousand Oaks, CA

Is CBD legal in Thousand Oaks, California?

Yes. Hemp-derived CBD products with no more than 0.3% Delta-9 THC by dry weight are federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill and sold throughout California, including Thousand Oaks. Starting December 11, 2026, a federal law signed in November 2025 excludes final hemp products with more than 0.4 mg of total THC per container, and California sets its own, stricter limits on THC in hemp food and beverage products, so check current rules before buying THC-containing hemp items. No medical card or dispensary access required to purchase hemp CBD. Cannabis dispensary products, which may carry higher THC content, are sold through licensed dispensaries like Leaf and Legendary Organics under California state law.

Does Simply Hemply ship to Thousand Oaks, CA?

Yes. Simply Hemply ships to all Thousand Oaks zip codes (91320, 91360, 91361, 91362) from their Westlake Village fulfillment location. Orders typically arrive in 2–5 business days. Free shipping applies on orders $100 or more.

What’s the difference between CBD and Delta-9 THC products?

CBD (cannabidiol) is non-intoxicating and doesn’t produce a “high.” Delta-9 THC, even in hemp-derived form, is mildly psychoactive. Under current federal law, hemp-derived Delta-9 products are legal when they contain ≤0.3% Delta-9 THC by dry weight, but from December 11, 2026, final products with more than 0.4 mg of total THC per container fall outside the federal hemp definition. Some customers prefer a CBD:Delta-9 combination (like a 5mg THC / 125mg CBD gummy), though the entourage effect has not been confirmed in rigorous human trials.

Are there any CBD stores in Newbury Park specifically?

Newbury Park is a neighborhood within the city of Thousand Oaks. Leaf Dispensary operates in Newbury Park and carries CBD alongside its cannabis menu. For hemp-only CBD with no dispensary visit required, Simply Hemply delivers to Newbury Park addresses, and Your CBD Store is a short drive away on Thousand Oaks Blvd.

What should I look for in a quality CBD product?

Third-party COAs (Certificates of Analysis), clear labeling of cannabinoid content (in mg, not just percentage), US-grown hemp, and a transparent brand with a real contact address and customer service. Simply Hemply meets all of these benchmarks. Always ask for COAs from any local storefront you buy from.

Does Simply Hemply carry CBD for pets?

Yes. Simply Hemply carries a dedicated pet line including CBD tinctures and treats formulated for dogs and cats. All pet products are lab tested to the same standard as their human products. Given Thousand Oaks’ active pet-owning community and proximity to natural spaces like the Santa Monica Mountains Recreation Area, this is one of the more popular product categories for local customers.
